Dual Xeon E5-2643 v3 compute

This 2U rack server ships with two six-core Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 processors running at 3.4GHz. Twenty-four virtual threads handle parallel workloads such as virtualisation, database serving and high-performance computing. The C610 chipset provides the I/O backbone for expansion cards and storage controllers.

H240ar RAID with twelve LFF bays

The Smart HBA H240ar controller brings 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 support. Twelve front-accessible large-form-factor drive trays accept 3.5-inch drives, and an optional rear cage can add three more LFF or two SFF bays. Dual 500W hot-swap power supplies deliver redundancy without shutting down.

Sixteen-gigabyte DDR4 baseline

Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across twenty-four DIMM slots, leaving ample room to grow. The platform supports up to three terabytes total using 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB modules at speeds up to 2400MT/s, limited by the processor capability. Buyers who need larger memory footprints or GPU acceleration will need to add modules or a different chassis.
