The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server equipped with two six-core Xeon E5-2643 v3 processors running at 3.4GHz. It ships with 64GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The system targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes or compute clusters that need strong single-thread performance in a dense rack form factor.

Sustained load with redundant power

Dual 500W hot-swap power supplies share the load so the server keeps running if one unit fails. The Intel C610 chipset manages memory traffic across twelve channels per socket, keeping bandwidth steady during long compilation jobs or heavy VM density. Twelve memory slots per processor allow balanced population for consistent throughput over extended periods.

Eight-bay SFF chassis with software RAID

The front panel holds eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays populated with two 1TB 7.2K SATA enterprise drives. The onboard B140i controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 for SATA devices only. A Matrox G200eH2 GPU handles basic video output for local console access. Additional bays or NVMe options can be added in bays two and three for future expansion.
