Yes, the 24 small form factor bays are designed for 2.5" SAS drives. The two included 1 TB 7.2K SAS drives ship with trays; additional drives require their own trays.

How can I confirm the Smart Array P440 4GB FBWC controller is healthy after installation?

During POST the controller reports its firmware version, battery status and logical drive configuration. The iLO interface also shows real-time controller health and drive SMART data.

What components are included in the box and what must I purchase separately?

The server ships with one E5-2609 v3 processor, 96 GB DDR4, two 1 TB SAS drives with trays, the P440 4GB FBWC controller and two 500 W redundant power supplies. Operating system, rail kit and any extra drives or memory are not included.
