This 2U rack server is built for data-centre workloads that need balanced compute and storage density. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processor running at 1.9GHz and 64GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. The chassis supports a second processor for future expansion.

Storage controller and drive configuration

The system includes an HP Smart HBA H240ar controller providing 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 support. Two 146GB 15K 2.5-inch SAS drives are installed in the eight-bay SFF front cage. Additional drive bays and NVME options can be added to the remaining slots.

Memory capacity and headroom

Installed memory sits at 64GB across the 24 DIMM slots, with the platform supporting up to 3TB when both processor sockets are populated. This configuration handles virtualisation hosts and database instances comfortably within the current footprint. Workloads requiring larger in-memory datasets will need additional DIMMs and the second CPU to unlock the full channel count.
