The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rackmount server built for data-centre density. A single Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processor at 1.9GHz provides the compute base, while 4GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory is installed across 24 available DIMM slots.

Build Integration and Expansion

Redundant hot-swap 500W power supplies keep the platform running during module replacement. Eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays accept SAS or SATA media, and the Smart HBA H240ar controller connects at 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA. Optional universal media bay, NVME drive cage or additional SFF bays can be added to bays two and three.

Capacity Headroom and Limits

Two 146GB 15K SAS drives deliver fast spindle storage out of the box. The memory subsystem scales to 3TB using DDR4 modules up to 2400MT/s, though the single-socket configuration caps processor cores at six.
