The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processor running at 1.9 GHz. It ships with 96 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and two 146 GB 15 K SAS drives. The platform targets organisations that need a dense, reliable compute node for virtualisation, database or general-purpose workloads in a standard rack cabinet.

Redundant Power and Expandable Drive Bays

Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy without occupying extra rack height. The chassis offers eight 2.5-inch SFF bays populated with the two included drives, leaving six bays free for additional SAS or SATA storage. An internal Smart HBA H240ar controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA links. Optional universal media, NVMe or extra SFF bay kits can be added to the remaining bay positions.

96 GB DDR4 at Maximum Installed Capacity

The system arrives with all 24 DIMM slots filled, reaching the 96 GB installed limit for this configuration while the platform itself supports up to 3 TB when both processor sockets are populated. Memory runs at up to 2400 MT/s depending on the CPU capability. Storage headroom is provided by six empty 2.5-inch bays and the controller's 12 Gb SAS bandwidth, though the two 146 GB drives offer limited capacity for data-intensive applications.
