The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rackmount server equipped with a single six-core Xeon E5-2609 v3 processor at 1.9 GHz and 4 GB of DDR4 memory. It targets organisations that need a compact, enterprise-grade platform for virtualisation, database or file-serving workloads where redundant power and hot-swap drives are required.

12 Gb SAS controller and eight drive bays

The Smart HBA H240ar provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 support. Eight 2.5-inch SFF bays are populated with two 1 TB 7.2K SAS drives; the remaining six bays accept additional SAS or SATA devices, while the controller limits each drive to its native 6 Gb or 12 Gb link speed.

Redundant 500 W supplies and Matrox graphics

Dual hot-swap 500 W power supplies deliver N+1 redundancy without shutting down the chassis. A Matrox G200eH2 GPU handles basic console output, freeing PCIe slots for additional network or storage cards. Twenty-four DDR4 DIMM slots allow memory expansion up to the platform maximum when a second processor is installed.
