Redundant power and smart cooling

Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide full redundancy so a single unit failure does not interrupt service. The 2U chassis uses HP’s temperature-aware fan algorithms to balance airflow against acoustic output under typical data-centre loads. Power draw scales with the installed processor and memory configuration, and the redundant supplies share the load evenly.

P440 controller with flash-backed cache

The Smart Array P440 adds 4 GB of flash-backed write cache, accelerating RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the two included 146 GB 15K SAS drives. The cache preserves in-flight writes during power loss without a separate battery module. Sixteen SFF bays remain available for additional SAS storage, and the Matrox G200eH2 graphics handle basic console output.
