This HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 server is a 2U rackmount system equipped with a single Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processor at 3.4 GHz and 64 GB of DDR4 memory. It includes two 4 TB SAS hard drives connected to a Smart HBA H240ar controller supporting RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60. Dual 500 W redundant power supplies are fitted. The chassis provides twelve 3.5-inch LFF drive bays.

Suits single-socket workloads, not dual-socket

This configuration suits buyers running single-threaded applications, databases licensed per socket, or virtualisation hosts that do not need a second processor. It is not for buyers who require two CPUs for higher core counts, larger memory capacity beyond 64 GB, or workloads that scale across NUMA nodes. The installed memory already reaches the single-processor maximum of 64 GB.

Single CPU caps memory at 64 GB

The installed Xeon E5-2643 v3 is the only processor fitted, and the system board provides twelve DIMM slots per processor. With one CPU, only twelve slots are usable, limiting total memory to 64 GB across those slots. Adding a second processor would unlock the remaining twelve slots and raise the supported maximum to 3 TB, but that processor is not included.
