The chassis provides twelve 3.5-inch large-form-factor drive bays for high-capacity SAS storage.

Redundant power and hot-swap cooling

Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies deliver N+1 redundancy so the server remains online during a supply failure. Variable-speed fans adjust airflow to component load, keeping acoustic output lower at typical utilisation while maintaining safe thermals for the CPU, memory and drive bays. The power supplies and fans are replaceable without tools or downtime.

HBA controller and SAS drives included

The Smart HBA H240ar provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, offloading parity calculations from the CPU. Two HP 4 TB 7.2 K SAS drives are pre-installed in trays, giving immediate 8 TB of redundant storage. The server includes no operating system, so the administrator chooses the hypervisor or OS that matches the workload.
