HPE MSA 1060 SFF 12×1.2TB SAS Storage Array

The HPE MSA 1060 Gen6 is a 2U rack-mount storage array pre-populated with twelve 1.2TB SAS drives for 14.4TB of raw capacity. It targets small-to-mid-size organisations that need shared block storage on a constrained budget. Dual 12Gb SAS 2-port controllers provide redundant host connectivity. The platform supports Windows Server 2016 through 2022, VMware vSphere 6.7, Red Hat Linux 8 and SUSE SLES 15.

Sustained workload behaviour

Dual 580W redundant power supplies keep both controllers online during drive rebuilds or heavy backup windows. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 maintain data availability while the array services concurrent host I/O. The 24-bay SFF chassis accepts additional MSA 2060 SFF enclosures — up to three — so raw capacity can grow toward 475TB without interrupting production volumes.

Pre-deployment checklist

Verify that your hosts have 12Gb SAS HBAs or compatible RAID adapters and that multipath software is configured for the certified operating systems listed. Confirm rack space for a 2U unit measuring 3.5" high, 17.5" wide and 20.0" deep with adequate front-to-rear airflow. Ensure two independent PDU circuits are available for the redundant power supplies.
