This 2U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5120 processors running at 2.2GHz and 256GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. The chassis supports up to eight 2.5-inch drive bays and includes an HPE Smart Array P408 SAS controller for RAID management. Integrated Intel I350/X540 networking provides two 10GbE and two 1GbE ports. Remote administration is handled by HPE iLO Advanced with firmware updated to the latest stable version. Dual 500W Flex Slot power supplies deliver redundancy.

Suited for virtualisation clusters

The 256GB DDR4 capacity and dual 14-core CPUs fit database nodes, virtualisation hosts and high-throughput batch processing. Buyers who need local storage out of the box should look elsewhere because no drives are installed. Organisations requiring GPU acceleration will not find discrete graphics — only integrated video is present. The maximum processor count of two is fixed, so workloads that scale beyond two sockets cannot grow in this chassis.

256GB DDR4 ECC registered memory

This is the installed memory configuration; the platform can scale to 3TB when fully populated with supported modules. The DDR4 generation is mandatory — other DDR generations are physically and electrically incompatible. The Smart Array P408 controller manages SAS and SATA drives across the available bays. Network connectivity is locked to the installed Intel I350/X540 adapter providing 10GbE and 1GbE links.
