The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 is a 2U rack server built for virtualisation clusters, database nodes and compute-heavy workloads. It ships with two Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.1GHz and 768GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. No drives are installed, so storage is chosen separately.

768GB DDR4 ECC registered memory

The installed 768GB of DDR4 ECC registered RAM is the decisive specification; it determines how many virtual machines or in-memory databases fit on the node. Memory type and capacity cannot be changed after purchase without adding compatible modules up to the 3TB maximum. Only DDR4 modules are supported.

Tool-less rail installation with Smart Array P408

The chassis uses tool-less sliding rails for rack mounting and the Smart Array P408 SAS controller handles RAID for up to eight 2.5-inch bays. Common issues are forgetting to order drive carriers and not licensing iLO Advanced for full remote management. Two 500W Flex Slot supplies provide redundancy.
