Sustained load behaviour

The 16-core Xeon Silver 4514Y runs at a 2.0 GHz base frequency with a 150 W TDP, allowing continuous operation without thermal throttling. Dual standard fans and optional redundant fan kits keep airflow stable under prolonged workloads. PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and an OCP 3.0 slot remain available for additional accelerators such as the NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada graphics card.

Single-processor constraint

Only one processor socket is populated and the chassis supports a maximum of one CPU, so core count cannot be expanded beyond the installed 16 cores. Memory can grow to 1.5 TB across 16 DDR5 slots, but compute scaling requires a different platform. Buyers who need more than 16 cores or dual-socket performance should evaluate alternative server models.
