From single to dual CPU

This configuration starts with one processor installed and room for a second identical Xeon Gold 5416S. Adding the second CPU doubles core count to 32 and unlocks the full memory capacity. The upgrade is worth it when workloads outgrow the initial 16 cores and 32GB baseline.

Storage controller bandwidth

The MR408i-o controller uses eight PCIe lanes with 4GB cache and supports Serial ATA and SAS drives across eight bays. Its OCP SPDM interface limits peak throughput to the x8 link width. Arrays that demand more lanes or cache will hit this ceiling.
