It fits a standard 5.25" bay and accepts two 2.5" SSDs or HDDs between 5mm and 15mm in height. A Slim or Ultra-Slim optical disk drive is also supported. Heavy-duty steel construction aids heat dissipation across both drive bays and the optical drive slot. The single-channel backplane handles SAS 3.0 12Gbps and SATA 3.0 6Gbps traffic without throttling under steady workloads. Fan control allows acoustic tuning for office or server-room deployment.

Interface Throughput Limits

The backplane delivers a single SAS 3.0 lane at 12Gbps and SATA 3.0 at 6Gbps per drive. Two drives share this single channel, so aggregate bandwidth cannot exceed the lane maximum. No additional controllers or multiplexing are included in the enclosure. Builders needing independent full-speed lanes for each drive must look elsewhere.
