The Intel Xeon Platinum 8458P is a 44-core, 88-thread server processor built on 10 nm Sapphire Rapids silicon. It targets single-socket platforms that need high core density and large memory capacity for virtualisation, database and high-performance computing workloads.

82.5 MB L3 cache and DDR5-4800 bandwidth

Eight memory channels support up to 4 TB of DDR5 at 4800 MT/s with one DIMM per channel or 4400 MT/s with two. The 82.5 MB shared L3 cache feeds all 44 cores, reducing latency for memory-bound tasks while the 3.8 GHz max turbo frequency handles bursty single-thread demand.

LGA 4677 socket with 80 PCIe 5.0 lanes

The processor drops into an LGA 4677 socket and exposes 80 lanes of PCI Express 5.0 for fast storage, networking or accelerator cards. A 350 W thermal design power requires substantial cooling, which is not included. Scalability is limited to one socket, so dual-socket builds are not supported.
