The Intel Xeon Gold 6226R is a 16-core server processor with 32 threads built on 14 nm Cascade Lake architecture. It operates at a 2.9 GHz base frequency and reaches a 3.90 GHz maximum turbo frequency. Designed for multi-socket data centre platforms, it supports up to four-socket scalability for mainstream compute, cloud, network and storage workloads.
This CPU installs in an LGA 3647 socket and provides an integrated memory controller running DDR4 at 2933 MT/s across six channels. It exposes 48 PCI Express 3.0 lanes for high-speed I/O and accelerator cards. A 150 W thermal design power requires server-grade cooling and a power delivery system rated for that envelope.
The 22 MB L3 cache reduces latency for heavily threaded applications. Intel Virtualization Technology support enables efficient VM density, while hardware-enhanced security features help protect data across multi-tenant environments. No bundled accessories or software are included with the tray processor.

The 150W TDP sets the cooling requirement; under continuous full-core load the processor will throttle to stay within this power envelope unless the system cooler can dissipate more heat.
At base frequency the chip draws up to 150W, so a server-grade heatsink or liquid loop is needed; fan noise will match the cooler’s capacity to move that heat continuously.
You need an LGA 3647 motherboard with six-channel DDR4 2933 support and a power delivery system rated for at least 150W.
