The iStarUSA D406ND-B6SL is a 4U rackmount server chassis built around six 3.5" hot-swap drive bays. Its aluminum and steel frame fits ATX and microATX boards up to 12 x 9.6 inches. Seven expansion slots and two external 3.5" bays add flexibility for mixed workloads.

Steady airflow with a single 80mm fan

One 80mm fan provides the baseline cooling path through the 20.80" x 19.00" x 7.00" enclosure. Under sustained load the single fan must move heat from up to eight installed drives and a full-height board. Builders planning continuous heavy I/O should verify thermal headroom or add the optional TC-ISF08 sensor board for active monitoring.

Six hot-swap bays define the storage ceiling

The six silver hot-swap bays are the decisive spec: they set the maximum number of drives that can be swapped without downtime.
