The Jansicotek E02 is a USB 3.0 adapter that connects 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch SATA and IDE hard drives or solid-state drives to a computer. It also supports optical drives such as DVD-ROM and CD-RW. The adapter works with Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS without requiring driver installation. It is suited for users who need quick access to bare drives for data recovery or backup.

Connection and power setup

The adapter plugs into an available USB 3.0 Type-A port and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. A 12V 2A external power adapter and a 4-pin power cable are included to supply electricity to 3.5 inch drives and optical devices. This arrangement lets you power drives outside the chassis without opening the case. The compact, lightweight design makes it easy to carry in a laptop bag.

Thermals, noise and power draw
