The Kanguru U3-BDRW-SL is a slim external optical drive that connects through SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and draws power from the port. It writes Blu-ray media at up to 6x (26.4 MB/s), DVDs at up to 8x (10.8 MB/s) and CDs at up to 24x (3.6 MB/s). The unit is TAA compliant and ships with digitally-signed secure firmware.

Sustained write behaviour

During long burns the drive maintains its rated speeds without requiring an external power brick. USB 3.0 bandwidth keeps the buffer fed so Blu-ray, DVD and CD sessions complete at 6x, 8x and 24x respectively.
