A 1.5MB buffer helps keep streams steady. It suits anyone adding optical write capability to a desktop that still has a 5.25-inch bay.

Confirm the chassis has a free 5.25-inch external bay and a spare SATA data port on the motherboard. A matching SATA power lead from the power supply is also required. The tray-load mechanism needs clear front-panel depth so the disc can eject fully. No driver install is needed for current Windows or Linux kernels.
How it fits into the build
The unit slides into the 5.25-inch bay and secures with standard M3 screws. One SATA data cable and one SATA power connector complete the hook-up. It frees the system from relying on external USB optical drives for disc authoring, software installs or legacy media access. The Label-tag feature lets you etch text or graphics onto compatible label-side surfaces.
