The Lite-On iHDP118-08 is a black 5.25 inch tray-load DVD-ROM drive with an IDE interface. It reads DVD media at up to 18X and CD media at up to 48X with a 198KB cache. The drive is supplied new with screws, a driver disc and a user manual.

Suits legacy builds only

This drive fits older systems that still provide a 5.25 inch bay and a spare IDE header. Builders using motherboards without IDE connectors or cases without external 5.25 inch bays cannot install it. Buyers who need DVD writing capability should look at a DVD-RW model instead.

IDE interface decides compatibility
