Capacity and interface
The Micron 9550 MAX is a 3.2 TB enterprise solid-state drive built for data-centre workloads. It connects through a U.2 PCIe interface running the NVMe 5.0 standard. The drive targets servers and storage arrays that demand consistent high-throughput access to large datasets.
Build integration
The U.2 form factor slots into hot-swap backplanes or direct-attach caddies common in 2.5-inch server bays. PCIe 5.0 lanes from the CPU or a switch provide the link, so the platform must expose enough lanes at that generation. No separate power cable is required beyond the backplane connector.
Throughput headroom
Sequential reads reach 14 GB/s and writes sustain 10 GB/s, giving ample bandwidth for database logging, virtualisation images and AI checkpointing. The 3.13 TB usable capacity handles multi-terabyte working sets, though workloads needing significantly more space will require additional drives.
