This ATX motherboard pairs the AMD 990FX chipset with Socket AM3/AM3+ to support AMD FX, Phenom II, Athlon II and Sempron processors. Dual-channel DDR3 memory runs at 1066, 1333, 1600, 1866 or 2133 MHz when overclocked, with a 32 GB ceiling. Realtek ALC1150 provides 7.1 channel audio and S/PDIF output. Killer E2205 Gigabit LAN handles the single wired network link.

Expansion Layout

Three PCIe 2.0 x16 slots accept graphics cards; the second and fifth run at x16 speed while the fourth operates at x4. Two additional PCIe 2.0 x1 slots and one legacy PCI slot cover add-in cards. Six SATA III ports connect storage drives with RAID support. Fourteen USB 2.0 ports are available, eight on the rear I/O and six via internal headers.
