Built for 12th Gen Intel and DDR5
The MSI MAG Z690 TOMAHAWK WIFI pairs an LGA 1700 socket with the Intel Z690 chipset to support 12th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. Dual-channel DDR5 memory scales up to 128 GB and runs at speeds from 4800 JEDEC up to 6400 OC. Three PCIe x16 slots provide a PCIe 5.0 x16 lane from the CPU plus two chipset-driven slots at PCIe 3.0 x4 and x1. Storage connectivity includes four M.2 interfaces and six SATA ports.
Thermals and power delivery
Extended heatsinks cover the VRM and M.2 areas to keep temperatures in check during sustained loads. The 2.5 Gbps Intel I225V LAN controller and Realtek ALC4080 7.1-channel audio codec operate within the board's standard power envelope without adding noticeable noise. Onboard USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 20 Gbps Type-C, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps ports and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 5 Gbps ports draw power directly from the chipset, keeping cable routing simple.
Build integration
ATX dimensions fit standard mid-tower and full-tower chassis while the pre-installed I/O shield speeds up installation. Included accessories are a CMOS battery, one SATA cable, the chassis I/O back panel and a Wi-Fi antenna for the integrated wireless module. The rear panel layout groups 2.5 Gbps LAN, audio jacks with S/PDIF and high-speed USB ports so front-panel headers remain free for case connections.

商品問答
How do I install the CPU into the LGA 1700 socket without bending pins?
Align the processor triangle with the socket marker, lower it straight down without pressure, then close the retention lever until it clicks; the socket uses a 1700-pin land grid array so the pins are on the board, not the CPU.
Which component will need replacement first during long-term ownership?
The included CMOS battery maintains firmware settings when the system is unplugged and will eventually require replacement once the voltage drops too low to hold the configuration.
What thermal limit appears first when the VRM runs under sustained heavy load?
The 12+1+1 phase power design with extended heatsinks is rated for high current, so the motherboard’s own thermal protection will throttle the CPU before the VRM components reach their maximum operating temperature.
