Socket and chipset
This motherboard uses the Intel Z170 chipset and an LGA 1151 socket. It supports 6th generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors plus Pentium and Celeron models with the same pin layout. The ATX form factor fits standard full-size cases.
Memory limits
Four slots accept dual-channel DDR4 up to a maximum of 64 GB. Supported speeds range from 2133 MHz to 3600 MHz with overclocking. Populate slots in matched pairs to enable dual-channel operation.
Expansion and connectivity
Three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots run in x16/x0/x4 or x8/x8/x4 configurations. Three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots and one legacy PCI slot are also available. Storage includes one M.2 interface, one SATA Express interface and six SATA III ports. Rear I/O provides two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports at 10 Gbps and four USB 3.1 Gen1 ports. Two additional USB 3.1 Gen1 headers sit on the board. Networking uses an Intel I219-V Gigabit LAN controller and audio uses a Realtek ALC1150 codec with 7.1 channel output.
