128 GB DDR5 4800 ECC RDIMM kit

This 128 GB kit contains four 32 GB DDR5 4800 ECC registered DIMMs built for the Dell PowerEdge XE8640 rack server. Each module runs at 1.1 V with a CAS latency of CL40 and uses a 2Rx8 organisation. The registered design adds a buffer that reduces electrical load on the server memory controller.

DDR5 4800 bandwidth and registered topology

The DDR5 4800 interface provides a peak transfer rate of PC5-38400 while the registered architecture limits the number of ranks the memory controller must drive directly. This topology supports high-density population but does not allow mixing with unbuffered or non-ECC modules in the same system.

288-pin RDIMM form factor decides fit

Only systems that accept 288-pin DDR5 RDIMMs with ECC and registered signalling can use this kit. Desktop boards, laptops or workstations requiring UDIMM or SO-DIMM formats cannot install these modules.
