ASRock W790 WS ECC RDIMM Kit

This 128GB memory kit contains four 32GB DDR5 modules built for the ASRock W790 WS workstation motherboard. Registered ECC operation protects data integrity in professional workloads. The kit is new and validated for system-specific compatibility.

4800 MT/s CL40 at 1.10V

Four ranks of 1Rx4 Samsung, Micron or Hynix chips deliver 4800 MT/s throughput with CL40 latency. Registered buffering adds a clock cycle but enables the full 128GB capacity. Workloads exceeding this density or requiring lower latency will hit the module limits.

DDR5 288-pin RDIMM constraints

The 288-pin DDR5 RDIMM form factor fits only platforms that support registered ECC memory and the W790 chipset. Consumer boards, unbuffered slots or earlier DDR generations cannot use these modules. BIOS must recognise the registered configuration at 1.10V.

The W790 WS platform uses DDR5 only, so any modules already installed must also be DDR5 ECC RDIMM. Mixing different speeds or latencies will force all slots to run at the slowest common setting.

How can I verify the kit is running at the rated 4800 MT/s and CL40 after installation?

Enter the UEFI/BIOS and confirm the memory frequency shows 4800 MT/s with timings at 40-40-40. Tools such as CPU-Z or dmidecode will also report 4800 MT/s and CL40 once the OS loads.
