ThinkMate Server Compatibility
This 16GB DDR4 3200 ECC RDIMM module is built for ThinkMate rackmount servers including the RAX-XN24, XS4, XT10, XS8, XH8, XH10, XH12, XT24 and S3 platforms. It targets administrators who need registered, error-correcting memory to maintain data integrity in multi-socket enterprise workloads.
Registered ECC Architecture
The stick uses a 2Rx8 organisation at 1.20V and plugs into standard 288-pin DDR4 RDIMM slots. Because it is registered, the module presents a lighter electrical load to the memory controller, allowing higher total capacities per channel than unbuffered DIMMs. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow across the PCB must be supplied by the server chassis fans.
Upgrade From Lower-Capacity RDIMMs
Replacing 8GB or 4GB registered ECC modules with this 16GB part doubles or quadruples per-slot density without changing voltage or speed. The jump is worthwhile when virtualisation hosts, database nodes or compute clusters hit memory pressure and the motherboard still has free RDIMM slots. It is not suited for workstations or desktops that require unbuffered non-ECC UDIMMs.
