2TB DDR4 ECC RDIMM kit for Thinkmate Supermicro

This 2TB kit contains sixteen 128GB DDR4 3200 registered DIMMs built with ECC and a 4Rx4 organisation. It is designed for Thinkmate Supermicro SuperServer models including the 620P-TR, 620P-TRT, 220P-C9R and 220P-C9RT. The modules operate at 1.2V with a CAS latency of CL22 and use a standard 288-pin form factor. Buyers needing non-ECC or unbuffered memory for consumer platforms cannot use this kit.

DDR4 3200 registered ECC limits

The DDR4 3200 interface caps transfer rates at PC4-25600 and requires a motherboard that supports registered ECC RDIMMs with a 4Rx4 rank structure. Systems limited to lower memory speeds will down-clock the modules, while boards without registered ECC support will not post. The 1.2V operating voltage is standard for DDR4, but the registered buffer adds a clock cycle of latency compared to unbuffered DIMMs. Builders targeting desktop chipsets or laptops should look elsewhere.

Sixteen 128GB modules decide fit

The kit delivers its full 2TB capacity only when all sixteen 128GB sticks populate every available slot on a compatible Supermicro motherboard. Each module is a 4Rx4 288-pin RDIMM, so the server must accept that rank configuration and physical layout. If the target system has fewer than sixteen slots or restricts rank population per channel, the full capacity cannot be realised.
