The Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black is a 120mm CPU air cooler designed for systems that prioritise low noise and broad socket support. Its 158mm height fits most tower cases while leaving room for tall memory modules. The black NF-F12 PWM fan runs from 300 to 1500 RPM, delivering up to 93.4 m3/h airflow at 22.4 dB(A). Compatible with Intel LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1200, LGA2011-0, LGA2011-3 and LGA2066 plus AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+ and AM4 platforms.

Low-Noise Adaptor and extra mounting hardware

The bundled Low-Noise Adaptor reduces maximum fan speed to 1200 RPM, cutting airflow to 74.3 m3/h and noise to 18.6 dB(A) for near-silent operation. NT-H1 thermal compound is supplied for immediate installation. The SecuFirm2 mounting kit covers all listed sockets, and black anti-vibration pads plus spare fan clips allow a second NF-F12 to be added for push-pull configuration without buying extra parts.

Copper base with soldered heat-pipes and nickel

The heatsink uses a copper base and heat-pipes soldered to aluminium fins, all nickel-plated for corrosion resistance. Vertical fan mounting keeps the cooler’s footprint narrow, avoiding interference with PCIe slots on most motherboards. At 755g with fan installed, the unit stays within typical motherboard weight limits.
