Target systems and purpose

This 16 GB kit contains two 8 GB DDR3L 1600 ECC registered RDIMM modules built for Cisco UCS B250 M2 and C250 M2 servers. It is designed for workstation, server, NAS and router platforms that require registered ECC memory and will not function in standard desktop computers.

DDR3L registered ECC constraints

The modules run at 1.35 V with CL11 latency on a 240-pin interface and must not be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced ECC DIMMs. Systems that only accept unbuffered memory or a different voltage will not recognise these modules, and the registered buffer adds one clock cycle to command timing.

Installation notes

Each DIMM seats in a standard 240-pin DDR3 slot; the key notch position matches the DDR3L specification so the module only fits one way. The most common issue is attempting to install the kit in a consumer motherboard that lacks registered ECC support, which results in a no-post condition.
