256 GB DDR4 LRDIMM for servers
This 256 GB DDR4 3200 CL22 LRDIMM is built for Gigabyte R272-P32, R272-P33, R272-Z30, R272-Z31 and R272-Z32 servers and workstations. It delivers ECC load-reduced operation at 1.2 V in a single 288-pin module. Desktop systems cannot use this memory type. ||
Sustained load behaviour
The load-reduced buffer lowers electrical load on the memory controller, allowing all 256 GB to run at the rated 3200 MT/s without signal degradation during long compute runs. Error-correcting code protects data integrity across extended workloads. Backward compatibility with 2133, 2400, 2666 and 2933 MT/s lets the module clock down when the platform requires it. ||
DDR4 interface limits
DDR4 tops out at 3200 MT/s in JEDEC standard form, so this module sits at the ceiling of the specification. Capacity per DIMM is constrained by the 8Rx4 organisation and the 1.2 V rail. Mixing with unbuffered or registered ECC DIMMs is not supported by the memory controller.
