This OWC kit provides 32GB of DDR5 memory in a matched pair of 16GB modules. It is built for workstations and servers that require registered ECC DDR5 DIMMs. Standard desktop computers cannot use this memory type.
The two modules are tested together for dual-channel operation at 4800 MT/s with CL40 latency. JEDEC standard voltage of 1.1V and ROHS compliance ensure a warranty-safe upgrade without manual tuning. No heat spreaders are included.
The 1Rx4 registered design with on-die ECC is the single specification that determines compatibility. This memory will not work in systems that require unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs. Mixing with other module types is not supported.

CL40 is the factory-set CAS latency for these DDR5 modules and does not change over time; no maintenance or replacement is needed for the latency setting itself.
Sustained operation is constrained by the 1.1 V JEDEC voltage and the registered ECC design, which together define the thermal and stability ceiling before any throttling would occur.
The modules have no heat spreader and no moving parts, so they add only the normal DDR5 power draw at 1.1 V and generate no audible noise during continuous use.
