This 32 GB kit contains four 8 GB DDR3 1600 modules built to PC3-12800 CL11 timings. They are 240-pin registered DIMMs with ECC and a 1Rx4 organisation, designed specifically for the HP Workstation Z620.

DDR3 1600 Registered ECC Limits

The DDR3 1600 registered ECC standard tops out at 1600 MT/s and requires a platform that supports registered signalling and error correction. Standard desktop boards cannot use these modules and they must not be mixed with unbuffered DIMMs.

Installing In The HP Z620

Shut down the workstation, open the chassis and populate the approved memory slots following the Z620 service guide. The most common issue is mixing registered and unbuffered DIMMs, which prevents the system from posting.
