Targeted Server Upgrade

This 32 GB kit contains four 8 GB DDR3L 1600 CL11 registered ECC DIMMs built for Supermicro SuperServer 6047R, 7047R, 8017R, 8027R and 8028B systems. It is not compatible with standard desktop computers and must not be mixed with unbuffered modules.

Installation Notes

Each module uses the standard 240-pin DDR3 form factor and operates at 1.35 V, so it fits the same slots as the original Supermicro parts it replaces. The registered buffer adds a small electrical load; the platform memory controller must support registered DIMMs or the system will not post.

DDR3L Platform Limits

DDR3L tops out at 1600 MT/s and 1.35 V, so bandwidth and density cannot exceed what the memory controller was designed for. Builders who need higher speeds, lower voltages or larger single-module capacities must move to a newer platform.
