TerraMaster NAS memory upgrade

This 8 GB DDR5 SODIMM is built for the TerraMaster U12-500 PLUS, U4-500, U8-500 PLUS, T12-500 PRO and T9-500 PRO. It adds capacity to compatible NAS units that ship with soldered or limited memory. The module follows JEDEC PC5-38400 timings at 4800 MHz with a CL40 latency. It is not suited for systems that require ECC or registered DIMMs.

Low-voltage unbuffered design

Operating at 1.1 V, the module draws minimal power and produces no audible noise because it has no moving parts. The unbuffered 1Rx8 organisation keeps the signal path short for stable operation in compact NAS chassis. Heat spreaders are absent, so airflow across the PCB handles the modest thermal load. Power consumption stays within the standard DDR5 SODIMM envelope.

Sustained workload behaviour

During long file transfers or parity calculations the memory maintains its rated 4800 MHz speed without throttling. The CL40 latency remains constant because the JEDEC profile does not rely on overclocking headroom. Errors do not accumulate because the DRAM is validated to meet OEM specifications for continuous operation. Capacity is fixed at 8 GB, so workloads needing more memory must use additional slots.
