The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 is a fully rugged 13.1-inch laptop designed for outdoor and industrial use. Its XGA touch display with LED backlight is readable in direct sunlight. An integrated Verizon 4G LTE modem and GPS receiver provide connectivity and navigation without extra dongles. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and a digitizer pen for gloved operation.

The single-core Intel Core i5 running at 2.70GHz draws modest power, allowing passive-heavy cooling that keeps fan noise low in typical office or vehicle-mounted workloads. MIL-STD-810G and IP65 ratings confirm the chassis survives vibration, dust and water jets without thermal throttling. The mechanical 500GB hard drive is the main source of audible noise and heat during sustained writes.

Build integration

Two DDR3 800 modules totalling 8GB occupy both SO-DIMM slots, so memory upgrades require replacing the existing pair.
