The QNAP TR-004U-US is a 4-bay rackmount enclosure that uses a micro processor with hardware RAID to manage storage. It ships without drives so you can install your own 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA disks. The unit connects to a host via a single Type-C USB 3.0 port running at USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds. It is built for backup and media streaming through a personal cloud.

Verify that your computer or server has an available USB Type-C or Type-A port compatible with USB 3.0 before ordering. The enclosure provides four SATA bays and includes twelve screws for 2.5-inch drives plus sixteen screws for 3.5-inch drives. A USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-A cable and a cable clip are supplied in the box. Ensure you have enough SATA drives to fill the desired RAID configuration.
