The Rosewill RSV-H408 is a 4U rackmount server chassis built around eight 3.5-inch hot-swap bays that accept SATA or SAS drives with 12Gbps bandwidth via SFF-8643 connectors. It supports standard ATX and Mini-ATX motherboards, giving system integrators a familiar platform for storage-dense deployments. The unit ships in open-box condition.
Eight drive bays with 12Gbps headroom
Eight front-accessible bays provide high-capacity storage in a single 4U enclosure, each bay wired for 12Gbps SAS/SATA throughput and SGPIO monitoring. The backplane includes temperature-controlled fan logic to match airflow to drive load. Expansion is limited to seven full-height slots, so additional HBAs or networking cards compete for the same space.
ATX power and 75 mm cooler clearance
An ATX power supply up to 180 mm long mounts in the standard location, while CPU coolers are restricted to 75 mm height. Graphics cards up to 275 mm fit in the expansion area, though the seven-slot limit and front fan wall constrain dual-slot card placement. Front I/O offers USB 3.0 and USB 3.2 Type-C ports for local data ingest.

Will my existing ATX motherboard fit the RSV-H408 without modification?
The chassis accepts 12" x 9.6" ATX and 11.2" x 8.2" Mini-ATX boards, so any standard ATX motherboard within those dimensions will mount directly.
How can I verify the 12Gbps hot-swap backplane is functioning after I install the drives?
The front LEDs show power status, HDD activity and dual LAN activity; drive presence and temperature are reported through the SFF8643 SGPIO interface to the host controller.
Does the RSV-H408 ship with rails, a power supply or drive caddies, or must I buy them separately?
Six 80mm PWM fans are included, but ATX power supply, rack rails and drive trays are not supplied and must be purchased separately.
