The runstar BP-205 is an automatic upper-arm blood-pressure monitor designed for home use. It stores up to 99 readings each for two users with date and time stamps. A 4.2-inch angled LCD with backlight and optional voice broadcast makes results easy to read. The wide-range cuff fits arms from 8.6 to 16.5 inches.

Practical Limits

Power comes from a corded electric adapter or the four included AA batteries. The device measures systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and pulse rate in about 30 seconds and flags irregular heartbeats with a warning symbol on the display. Cuff-fit detection alerts you if the cuff is loose or misaligned. It does not connect to a smartphone app or transmit data wirelessly.

Deciding Specification

The cuff circumference range of 8.6 to 16.5 inches determines whether the monitor will fit the intended user. If the arm measures outside this span the cuff cannot seal properly and readings will be unreliable. Check the arm size before purchase.
