It accepts any 2.5" SATA I, II or III hard drive or solid-state drive.

What the bracket changes

The enclosure adds the physical width and screw-hole pattern of a standard 3.5" drive while keeping the native SATA data and power connectors accessible. Its aluminium shell acts as a passive heatsink for the enclosed drive. No extra cables, adapters or software are included; the conversion is purely mechanical and electrical pass-through.

Capacity and headroom

The adapter imposes no capacity limit beyond what the installed 2.5" SATA drive provides. It handles the full SATA III 6 Gbit/s bandwidth, so drive performance is unchanged. The limiting factor is the 2.5" drive itself — height must not exceed the enclosure’s 1.01" internal clearance, and total length must fit within the 5.75" depth.
