This Samsung PM1653 drive provides 3.84 TB of solid-state capacity for servers and storage arrays that require consistent throughput. It is built for workloads such as databases, virtualization and analytics where sustained read and write performance matters. The SAS 24Gb/s interface connects directly to compatible controllers and backplanes. It is not suited for desktop PCs that lack SAS infrastructure.

SAS 24Gb/s integration

The 2.5 in form factor fits standard drive bays and hot-swap trays designed for SAS devices. A compatible SAS controller or RAID card and appropriate cabling are required to reach the 24Gb/s link speed. Sequential reads reach 4200 MB/s and writes reach 3700 MB/s when the host subsystem supports the full interface rate. Systems without SAS connectivity cannot use this drive.

Drive-only shipment
