500 GB capacity headroom

At 500 GB the drive holds a practical cache set for OLTP databases, multi-user file shares, photo rendering and 4K or 8K video editing. Sequential reads reach 560 MBps and writes 530 MBps, while random performance delivers 95,000 read IOPS and 85,000 write IOPS. Heavy sustained writes will eventually saturate the SATA link and the drive's write bandwidth limit.

SATA III interface

The drive connects through a SATA III port using the SATA protocol. This interface caps maximum throughput at the SATA III line rate, so the drive cannot exceed the quoted 560 MBps read and 530 MBps write speeds. Compatibility is limited to systems with a 2.5-inch SATA bay or an appropriate adapter.
