USB 3.0 speed and port requirement

Transfers run at the USB 3.0 interface rate, so an available USB 3.0 port is required to reach those speeds. The 18-inch cable limits placement to roughly half a metre from the host. Reformatting is necessary before the drive works with Time Machine on macOS.

System and power checks before ordering

Verify the host runs Windows 10 or higher or macOS 10.12 or higher. A free wall outlet is needed for the 18W power adapter. Rescue Data Recovery Services are not offered in every country, so confirm local availability if that feature matters.
