1.8 TB at 10000 RPM

The 1.80 TB capacity handles operating systems, databases and active project files with low average latency. The 10000 RPM rotation keeps random I/O responsive, but sequential transfers will saturate well before a modern SSD, so the drive runs out of steam on sustained high-queue workloads.

SAS 12Gb/s interface limits

The SAS 12Gb/s interface caps peak bandwidth at 12 Gb/s, so the drive cannot exceed that ceiling even during burst reads from the 256 MB cache. Controllers or backplanes limited to 6 Gb/s will halve the available headroom, and the physical 2.5" form factor prevents use in 3.5"-only bays without an adapter.
