Ultra-Compact CM5 Carrier Board

The SMUGDESK Nano Base Board (B) is a miniature carrier expansion board built exclusively for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 Lite and eMMC variants. Its PCB footprint matches the CM5 module outline, allowing the assembly to fit inside tightly constrained enclosures. The board integrates Gigabit Ethernet, Mini HDMI 4K output, USB 3.2 Gen1, dual MIPI connectors, 40PIN GPIO, a PCIe expansion slot, TF card slot and 3.5mm audio jack. Standardised DC 5V 5A power input and dedicated BOOT/PSW buttons simplify deployment.

Target Use Cases and Limits

This board suits engineers prototyping embedded controllers, smart devices or edge-computing nodes where board-area is the primary constraint. The single USB 3.2 Gen1 port and one Mini HDMI output restrict configurations needing multiple high-speed peripherals or simultaneous display outputs. Builds requiring additional internal storage beyond the TF card slot or multiple PCIe devices will need a different carrier design.
