Sonnet DuoModo Echo III Module expansion card

SKU CH-25ZZ-0YVRV

Thunderbolt 3 expansion module holds three full-length PCIe 3.0 cards with 400 W power and 17 dbA cooling

  • Supports three full-length PCIe cards for maximum expansion
  • Works with Mac, Windows and Linux via Thunderbolt
  • Three PCIe 3.0 slots deliver x16 and dual x8 bandwidth
  • 400 W power supply plus 75 W auxiliary connector powers demanding cards
  • Dual Noctua fans run at 17 dbA for ultra-quiet cooling

Expansion Capacity

The Sonnet DuoModo Echo III Module adds three PCIe 3.0 slots to a Thunderbolt 3 equipped computer, accepting one double-width card or up to three single-width cards. It targets audio and video professionals who need Avid HDX support or additional I/O cards without internal slots.

Host Requirements

Verify the computer provides Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports and runs macOS 10.12.6 or later, Windows with Thunderbolt 3/4 support, or Linux with Kernel 5.0 or newer. The expansion module only works with Thunderbolt compatible non-GPU PCIe cards, so confirm each card carries that qualification before ordering.

Included Hardware

A universal 400W power supply (115-230V AC, 50-60 Hz) and a 6-pin Mini-Fit Jr auxiliary connector deliver up to 75W extra power for demanding cards. Dual Noctua fans provide temperature controlled cooling rated at 17 dbA, and the unit powers on or off automatically with the host computer.

商品問答

Does the Echo III Module ship with any PCIe cards or cables, or must I buy them separately?

The unit includes the expansion module, a 400 W power supply and dual Noctua fans; PCIe cards and a Thunderbolt cable are not included and must be purchased separately.

The module offers one x16 and two x8 PCIe 3.0 slots — how do I decide which slot to use for a given card?

Install the card that needs the highest bandwidth in the x16 slot; the two x8 slots share the remaining bandwidth and suit cards with lower throughput requirements.

What does the 17 dBA fan rating mean for noise when the module is running a heavy workload in a quiet studio?

At 17 dBA the dual temperature-controlled Noctua fans are barely audible, so the module stays cool under load without adding noticeable background noise.
