This SoNNeT adapter cable connects a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or solid-state drive to a USB 3.0 port on a laptop or desktop. It allows quick access to drive contents for file transfer, cloning or data recovery without needing an enclosure. The cable supports SATA I, II and III drives and is powered solely by the USB port.

Check USB port power and drive size

Verify that your computer has a USB 3.0 port able to supply enough current for the 800 milliamp draw of the adapter and a connected 2.5 inch drive. The adapter is not suitable for 3.5 inch desktop drives, which require more power than a USB port can provide.
